Occlus Privacy Policy
Last updated 31 October 2026
This policy explains how MAG PHARMA PTY LTD trading as Occlus (ABN 60 686 789 882) collects, uses, holds and discloses personal information in connection with our dental laboratory services, website, enquiries and promotions. It covers clinic contacts, website visitors and patient information supplied to us for dental laboratory work.
Who we are and how to contact us
Occlus operates in Australia and provides digital dental laboratory services to dental clinics. For privacy enquiries, access or correction requests, or complaints, contact MAG PHARMA PTY LTD trading as Occlus at hello@occlus.com.au, or write to L5, 1 Queens Road, Melbourne VIC 3004, Australia. Please mark your correspondence “Privacy”. Our website is www.occlus.com.au.
Information we collect
For clinic enquiries and accounts, we collect information such as your name, professional role, clinic name, contact details, practice address or postcode, scanner platform, requested services, trial eligibility, correspondence, orders and billing information.
For laboratory cases, we may receive patient identifiers or case references, digital impressions and scans, dental photographs, prescriptions, treatment instructions and other clinical information needed for the requested work. Some of this is sensitive health information. Please provide only the information necessary for the case and use a case reference instead of a patient’s name where practicable.
Our website and its service providers may also collect technical information, including IP address, browser and device information, pages visited and cookies used to operate the site.
How we collect information
We collect information when you contact us, complete a website or Facebook or Instagram enquiry form, subscribe to updates, communicate by email or WhatsApp, connect a scanner account, or submit or manage a case. We receive patient information from the treating clinic and relevant information from service providers involved in fulfilling an order.
Clinics must ensure they have the necessary patient consent or other lawful authority to provide health information to us, and explain the laboratory’s role and relevant disclosures. We collect sensitive information only with consent or where otherwise permitted by law. A marketing enquiry is not consent to submit a patient’s clinical records.
You may make a general enquiry anonymously or using a pseudonym where practicable. If you do not provide information needed to verify a clinic, contact you or perform laboratory work, we may be unable to process the enquiry, trial or case.
Why we use information
We use personal information to answer enquiries, assess introductory-offer eligibility, set up clinic and scanner connections, process and communicate about orders, carry out case design and production, arrange delivery, manage invoices, provide support, investigate quality issues or remakes, and handle feedback and complaints. We also use information to maintain business records, protect our systems and meet applicable legal obligations.
We do not use patient health information to target advertising. We do not ask for patient information in advertising lead forms. Please submit clinical files through the case-submission channel agreed with Occlus, rather than social media comments, advertising forms or direct messages.
Who information may be shared with
We may share relevant information with authorised staff and contractors, design and production providers involved in a case, the treating clinic, delivery providers, and service providers supporting our website, communications, record management, payments or business administration. These include Airtable for clinic and case records, Squarespace for our website, scanner-platform providers, and Meta when you interact with our Facebook or Instagram forms or WhatsApp.
We limit disclosures to what is needed for the relevant purpose. We may also disclose information to professional advisers, insurers, regulators or other parties where required or authorised by law, or with your consent.
Storage and overseas processing
We use Airtable to manage clinic and case information. Relevant information may also be held in our business communications, scanner portals and the systems used to fulfil your request.
Some service providers operate internationally. Personal information may be stored or processed outside Australia, including in the United States, through services such as Airtable, Squarespace and Meta. Australian business operations do not mean that all information stays in Australia. The location of particular records depends on the service and account configuration.
We remain responsible for meeting applicable privacy obligations when personal information is handled by overseas recipients. You may contact us for information about the overseas arrangements relevant to your information. Further information about provider arrangements is available in Airtable’s data residency and subprocessor documentation and Squarespace’s and Meta’s privacy policies.
Website and social platforms
Our website uses Squarespace services and cookies for site operation and security. Technical usage information may be processed by the hosting service. You can manage cookies in your browser, although disabling some cookies may affect site functions.
Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and scanner platforms also handle information under their own privacy terms. When you submit a Meta enquiry form, the platform processes your submission and provides the information to us. Please review the relevant platform’s policy as well as this policy. Any material change to our own website tracking or advertising-data practices will be reflected in an updated policy and any required notices.
Enquiry follow up and marketing choices
If you request a complimentary trial or information about our services, we use the contact details you provide to respond and help arrange the next steps. Applying for a trial does not automatically subscribe you to unrelated promotional messages.
We send promotional communications only with the consent required by applicable law. If you subscribe to updates, you can unsubscribe using the option in the message or by emailing hello@occlus.com.au. We will action opt-out requests within the applicable legal timeframe. Essential communications about an active case, account or privacy matter may continue.
Security and retention
Our policy is to limit access to personal information to people who need it for their work and to take reasonable steps to protect it against loss, misuse, interference, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for its purpose and applicable clinical, business, legal and recordkeeping requirements. When information is no longer needed and retention is not required by law, we take reasonable steps to securely destroy it or de-identify it. If a data breach occurs, we assess and respond to it, including notifying affected people and regulators where required.
Access and correction
You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you using the contact details above. We may need to verify your identity and authority, particularly for patient information. We will respond within a reasonable period and explain any lawful basis for refusing a request, together with available complaint options. A request to delete information will be considered subject to applicable retention and other legal obligations.
Privacy complaints
Please send us a description of your concern, relevant dates and the outcome you are seeking. We will review the matter, investigate as appropriate and respond within a reasonable period. If more time is needed, we will explain why and keep you informed.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints, or another relevant privacy or health complaints authority.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or legal requirements change. The current version will be made available on our website, with its last updated date. You may request a copy by contacting us.
